Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers about websites, WordPress, and working with us.
Every project is different, so we don't publish a price list — and we'd be skeptical of anyone who does. A simple brochure site is a very different project from a WooCommerce store with custom functionality. What we can tell you: we work directly with you to scope the project honestly, and we'll give you a clear quote before any work starts. No surprises.
A typical small business site takes 3–6 weeks from kickoff to launch. Larger projects take longer. The biggest variable is usually content — how quickly you can provide copy, images, and feedback. We'll give you a realistic timeline upfront and stick to it.
Yes, completely. The files, the domain, the hosting account — all yours. We don't lock you into proprietary systems or hold your site hostage. If you ever decide to move on, we'll help you do it cleanly.
That's the goal. We build on WordPress specifically because it's designed for non-developers to manage. We train you on the CMS before launch and stay available for questions. Most clients are updating pages, adding blog posts, and swapping images within the first week.
WordPress is our specialty, but we've built on Drupal, WooCommerce, Shopify, and custom stacks over the years. We recommend the platform that fits your goals, your budget, and your team's ability to manage it — not the one that's easiest for us.
Often yes. We'll look at what you have and give you an honest assessment. Sometimes a targeted cleanup and content refresh is the right call. Sometimes a rebuild is faster and cheaper in the long run. We'll tell you which and why — even if that means less work for us.
Our maintenance clients get WordPress core and plugin updates, daily off-site backups, uptime monitoring, and a real human to call when something goes wrong. We also handle hosting recommendations and setup. Think of it as an IT department for your site — without the overhead.
We build every site with on-page SEO fundamentals in place — clean code, fast load times, proper heading structure, meta titles and descriptions, and schema markup. For ongoing SEO strategy, content creation, and Google Business Profile management, yes, we offer that as a separate service.
We're based in San Diego but most of our work is remote — clients across the US and a few international. Time zone and clear communication matter more than location. We've been doing this since 1997; remote work isn't new to us.
We stay available. Maintenance clients get priority response and a set number of change hours per month. Non-maintenance clients can request changes at our standard hourly rate. Either way, you're not on your own after go-live.
